I am Brian Curran, I started Chem-Dry of Richmond in November 1994. With a shiny new degree from VCU in Advertising and 3 months of Chem-Dry experience in Phoenix, AZ, I opened my doors for business. Then I soon got a second job to pay all the bills.
I was so lucky to be very seriously dating Danielle Groody, soon to be wife. With her support we paid for so much. The new franchise didn’t make any money for 3 years. All I could do was pay bills, pay off debt and expand. None of this would be possible without the belief my wife had in me. I could only imagine what her father thought.
After several years of cleaning and scheduling jobs it was time to expand. One customer service rep on the phone, then another technician cleaning, then another van cleaning, that’s how we grew.
In 2000 I bought a second franchise in Fredericksburg with his now partner Kenny Epps. Kenny had 4 years of service in the U.S. Army, 10 years of service with Coca Cola, and 2 years with his own Chem-Dry franchise.
In the next few years we opened up franchises in Charlottesville and Williamsburg. So now we service most of Central Virginia. And we love it.
So much has changed in our Franchise system with new services and equipment. Now Chem-Dry is not only the driest method, we can carpet cleaner than anyone in the world. And that is good business.
We love helping home owners have the cleanest healthiest home ever. We love proving a wonderful career opportunity for so many hard working folks. And now we love training folks all over the world on our how we have become one of the nation’s largest carpet cleaning companies.
I dreamed of providing my wife with a nice home. Raising children with her and enjoying them every day. My father worked very hard to be at all my ball games, church events and school events. And now I am truly living my dream.
